Meeting of the Minds Conference Series

Meeting of the Minds Conference Series
“New Frontiers in Evidence Based Psychology”

7th – 9th November 2008
Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and its International Institute for the Advanced Studies of Psychotherapy and Applied Mental Health are a Pole of Excellence in the Romanian academic and research field.

Based on the support of the Romanian Government (by competition) and on national and international grants, the Department has developed two major world-class research platforms that will be fully operational by fall 2009:
• The Platform for Robotherapy and Virtual Reality Therapy (see at http://www.psytech.ro);
• The Platform for Advanced Imaging – EEG/fMRI – in Clinical Cognitive Sciences (http://www.psychotherapy.ro).

This meeting, funded by the Romanian Government (Ministry of Education and Research) brings together top scientists in order to foresee (predict and shape) the cutting-edge developments in the field of evidence-based psychology. Three major topics will be discussed: (1) evidence-based assessment and therapy; (2) evidence-based training; (3) genetic counseling and its place in the clinical/counseling/psychotherapy field. We hope that the conclusions of this meeting will shape a research strategy to be run on the two major research platforms of the Department.

The entire event (e.g., presentations, discussions) will be videoconferenced and can be followed in Zorgo lecture hall (No. 7, Sindicatelor Street) and online.
