Professor “Aaron T. Beck” Daniel DAVID, Ph.D.

Daniel David, Professor, Ph.D. of clinical cognitive (neuro)sciences, is the Rector of Babes-Bolyai University (since 2020), Director of Research and Diplomate/Supervisor at the Albert Ellis Institute (AEI), New York, USA and president/director of the International Institute for the Advanced Studies of Psychotherapy and Applied Mental Health. He is also a supervisor in the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies. After his graduate (Babeş-Bolyai University) and postgraduate (Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) studies, he received a professorship position at the Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania and an adjunct professorship position at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, USA. He is one of the world leaders in promoting evidence-based approaches in clinical psychology/psychotherapy and technology-based clinical psychology/psychotherapy. Professor David is currently the most cited psychologist in Romania (h index, included among the top 2% (SCOPUS) most cited scientists in the world in 2019 and 2020, across all science fields:

    memory) and implicit (e.g., implicit memory/learning; priming) in generating subjective/emotional (cognition-emotion relation), behavioral, and psycho-physiological human responses
  • Evidence based psychotherapy, with a focus on clinical trials, with multilevel analyses, concerning (1) outcomes (i.e., efficacy and/or effectiveness); (2) theory/mechanisms of change (both psychological and neurobiological); and (3) economical aspects (e.g., cost-effectiveness, cost-utility)
  • The use of technological developments in clinical psychology/ psychotherapy (i.e., virtual/augmented reality therapy; robotherapy)
