Research focus: Developing, investigating, and disseminating evidence-based interventions for child and adolescent mental health problems.

  • Adaptation and validation of the main psychological instruments for assessing child cognition and psychopathology into Romanian (CBCL, YSR, TRF, BDI-II, ADHD-IV Rating Scale, Raven tests, Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, WISC-IV, d2 test of attention).
  • Evidence-based psychological interventions – coordinator of  clinical trials on the efficacy of cognitive behavioural interventions in child and adolescent emotional and behavioural problems (anxiety, ADHD, and disruptive behaviour) with focus on both outcomes and mechanisms of change. Principal investigator for a large clinical trial on the efficacy of a web platform in the treatment of childhood anxiety (contract nr. 81/2012 awarded by UEFISCDI); I was involved in a randomized clinical trial testing the Rational-emotive and cognitive-behaviour therapy (REBT/CBT) versus pharmacotherapy versus REBT/CBT plus pharmacotherapy in the treatment of major depressive disorder in young people. Currently running an RTC on Transdiagnostic REBT Prevention Program for Children, ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02756507.
  • Parental factors for behavioural addictions, internalizing problems and bullying.
  • Member of the International ASEBA Consortium.

Leadership: extensive project management experience in running large-scale research projects; extensive clinical and applied research experience involving development and validation of measures.
