Masters programs: professional practice

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE – CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES MASTERS

First Semester

  • Weekly: The Cognitive ABC Model – self-reflection
  • A minimum of one Behavioral ABC Model – applied on self (detailed)
  • An audio recording of the application of the Cognitive ABC Model (non-clinical case)
  • Self-reflection/Self-knowledge and personal development

Second semester (preconditions: clinical psychologist under supervision – for students with a Psychology Bachelor’s Degree)

  • Weekly: The Cognitive ABC Model – self-reflection
  • A minimum of one Behavioral ABC Model – applied on another person (non-clinical or subclinical case)
  • An audio recording of the application of the Cognitive ABC Model (non-clinical or subclinical case)
  • Comprehensive personal psychological testing
  • Supervised professional practice
  • Screening report (SCID plus other scales) – a minimum of 3 cases
    • For one case – audio recording of general characteristics and SCID screening phases
  • Psychological diagnosis report (SCID plus other scales) – a minimum of one case

Note: Students who do not have a practice certificate (or cannot be certified) by the Romanian Psychologists’ College will replace the required cases with the corresponding number of non-clinical or subclinical applications of the Cognitive and/or Behavioral ABC models.

Third Semester [preconditions: psychotherapist (for those eligible according to The Romanian Psychologists’ College)/ psychological counselor (for those with a Psychology Bachelor’s Degree) under supervision]

  • Weekly: The Cognitive ABC Model – self-reflection
  • A minimum of one Behavioral ABC Model – applied on another person (non-clinical, subclinical or clinical case)
  • An audio recording of the application of the Cognitive ABC Model (non-clinical, subclinical or clinical case)
  • Supervised professional practice
  • Screening report (SCID plus other scales) – a minimum of 3 cases
  • Psychological diagnosis report (SCID plus other scales) – a minimum of one case

  • A minimum of 4 cases of psychological counseling and/or psychotherapy, each session audio recorded (applies to students certified in psychological counseling and/or psychotherapy by the Romanian Psychologists’ College)
    • An initial report after the first 3 sessions of each case (the conceptualization model will be filled out)
    • Summary report after each 3 sessions
      • The report will contain:
        • Objectives/Diagnosis
        • Conceptualization
        • The psychological techniques that were used
        • The obtained results
        • Personal experience
        • Assessment of the therapeutic alliance

Fourth semester [preconditions: psychotherapist (for those eligible according to The Romanian Psychologists’ College)/ psychological counselor (for those with a Psychology Bachelor’s Degree) under supervision]

  • Weekly: The Cognitive ABC Model – self-reflection
  • A minimum of one Behavioral ABC Model – applied on another person (non-clinical, subclinical or clinical case)
  • An audio recording of the application of the Cognitive ABC Model (non-clinical, subclinical or clinical case)
  • Supervised professional practice
